Will anyone break through the noise?
It's easier than ever to create a brand, put out music, go viral on social media, but is this a good thing or a bad thing? It is easier for people to create today and grow a following today. But it feels like people are more interested in going viral than pushing forward culture.
Obviously, the creative industries are still going on strong. No, its not a bad thing that almost anyone can create something and share it within the same day but we have lost our "why" to worry about "what will get me likes?"
This has been a big topic of conversation with those around me. Yes, the creative industries are stll going strong. Yes, there are new artists that are rising into the publics eye and have been given opportunities to make an impact. But it feels like artists are satisfied with what is given to them by the creative industries.
It's a new age, new ways of growing, new ways of promoting and creating. So we are at a new point to define what culture is. It will be interesting to see who will still be standing through this time of so much change.
But there needs to be a new way to push forward what it means to create.
